Privacy policy
In short: we use what you send us only to reply to you, we never sell it, and nothing from Meta loads on this site unless you accept it.
Who we are
This website, aktualdesigns.com, belongs to Aktual Design LLC, an interior design, sculptural art and custom fabrication studio based in Miami, Florida, led by artist and designer Adrian Castro. If you have any question about this policy or about your information, write to us at hola@aktualdesigns.com.
What we collect
Only what we need to talk with you about your project:
- When you send the form: your name, your phone or WhatsApp number, the type of project, the city where it is and, if you write one, your message. We also receive the language you were viewing the site in and, if you came from one of our works, which one.
- When you contact us directly by email, WhatsApp, phone or Instagram: whatever you choose to send us, such as photos of your space.
- To protect the form from abuse: for one hour, our server keeps a coded fingerprint of your connection’s IP address (not the address itself) and the time of each request. It is used only to count requests: up to five per hour.
- Like any website: the server that hosts the site records technical data for each visit, such as the IP address, the browser and the page requested, for security and to keep the site running.
- In your browser: the site remembers the language you chose and your cookie choice. That information stays on your device.
- Only if you accept cookies: the Meta pixel collects data about your visit, as explained in Cookies and the Meta pixel.
How we use it
- To reply to your request, prepare a first reading of your project and continue the conversation with you.
- To keep the site and the form secure and free of spam.
- Only if you accept cookies: to measure and improve our ads on Instagram and Facebook.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Who receives it
These are the companies that receive information through the site:
- Google Workspace (Google): our email. Form requests arrive at hola@aktualdesigns.com.
- DreamHost: hosts the website and the server that sends the form.
- Meta Platforms: only if you accept cookies (the Meta pixel), or if you choose to write to us on WhatsApp or Instagram, which are Meta services with their own terms.
We will also share information if the law requires it.
Cookies and the Meta pixel
The site does not use cookies of its own. We use the Meta pixel, a Meta Platforms tool that measures the results of our ads on Instagram and Facebook, and we only load it if you accept it in the cookie notice.
If you accept, the pixel places Meta cookies in your browser (such as _fbp) and tells Meta which pages of the site you visit and when you send an inquiry, along with technical data such as your IP address and browser. For an inquiry it only reports the type of project: never your name, your phone number or your message. Meta can link this information to your Facebook or Instagram account and uses it under its own privacy policy and cookie policy.
If you decline, or until you choose, nothing from Meta is loaded. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a decline.
We remember your choice in your browser for 12 months. You can change it here at any time:
How long we keep it
- Requests that don’t become a project: we delete them 12 months after our last contact.
- If we work together: for as long as the professional relationship requires, and afterwards for as long as the law requires us to keep records.
- The anti-abuse fingerprint: one hour.
- The server’s technical records: for the time our hosting provider keeps them for security.
- Your cookie choice: 12 months, in your own browser.
- What Meta collects: as set out in Meta’s policies.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to show you, correct or delete the information we have about you by writing to hola@aktualdesigns.com. You can also withdraw your consent to cookies with the buttons in Cookies and the Meta pixel.
Depending on the state where you live, the law may give you other rights: write to us and we will help you exercise them. We will reply within a reasonable time, and we will never treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Security
The site and the form use encrypted connections (https), and our server also sends requests to our email over an encrypted connection. We take reasonable care of your information, although no system on the internet is completely secure.
Children
The site is meant for adults planning a project. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Other sites
The site links to WhatsApp and Instagram. Those services have their own privacy policies, which we recommend you read.
Language
This policy is available in English and Spanish. If the two versions differ, the English version prevails.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with its update date.
